Portfolio Management Analyst

A fantastic opportunity for a Portfolio Management Analyst to join a new and exciting Lloyd's syndicate and own and drive key analyses that enable the syndicate to assess current and historical underwriting performance, as well as inform critical underwriting and portfolio management decisions.

Key Responsibilities 

• Underwriting Performance Management
• Design and develop relevant new MI to evaluate the performance of their underwriting franchises
• Maintain and improve existing MI / dashboards
• Support the migration of MI into a new system
• Run regular validation checks on underwriting portfolio data

Key Skills / Experience

• Excellent problem-solving skills are required
• High proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required
• Strong preference for proficiency in SQL, Power BI, and/or VBA
• Strong preference for proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint
• Strong communication skills, with the ability translate complicated analytics / concepts into simple and relevant messages for underwriting franchises and senior leadership, both visually and verbally
• Bachelor’s degree from a top UK university (or equivalent outside of the UK) is required
• Strong preference for master’s and/or PhD degree from a Top 10 UK university (or equivalent outside of the UK) in a quantitative subject, including but not limited to Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics, Finance, Physics, or Engineering
• Minimum 1 year in a commercial / financial role, with a strong preference for London Market insurance experience
• Suitable current roles include but are not limited to (re)insurance portfolio management, (re)insurance analytics/consulting, underwriting, risk management, and actuarial
