A leading global pharmaceutical business has a fantastic and exciting opportunity for a Data Steward to join a newly formed Data Governance team and play a key role in building and evolving data standards and governance forums. You will be responsible for the data glossary, classification, access control and standards of data elements across the business domains. You will support the data quality, data security, data privacy, and data protection initiatives and monitor relevant KPIs.
Building and maintaining a data glossary, classification, and data quality standards of data elements across your specific data domainResponsible for ensuring stakeholders adhere to relevant data policies, standards, and guidelinesAssisting in building a new MDM platform and managing the data within itCollaborating with system owners and domain ownersDeveloping ways to improve quality, or support new validation controls within global applications;Maintaining metadata information according to stakeholder’s input and Data Owner approvalSupporting the data team in defining and evolving the enterprise data landscapeSupporting data quality, data security, data privacy, and data protection initiatives and monitoring relevant KPIsCommunicating findings with C suite stakeholdersIdentifying and leading certain small projects associated with the Data Governance teamUnderstanding the principles of Enterprise Data Models and their application;Working with the business to define User Acceptance Testing criteria and overseeing execution to completion.Creating and conveying a value proposition (oral or written) including ability to identify the issue share insight, validate, co-develop a solution, and move to the next steps.Effectively manage stakeholder issues.
Managing daily data governance reports and proactively reacting to them where needed.Creating and circulating KPI’s.Assist with any data cleansing that needs to be completed.To follow, promote and enforce relevant SOPs, Job Aids, and Company policies and procedures
Bachelor’s or higher degree, preferably in mathematics, statistics, computer or data science or related fields5 years or equivalent experience working in a data management role (Data Management / Office of the CDO or BI / Analytics team), with hands-on experience using Master Data Management and Data Governance toolsExperienced in integration technologies such as SQL, SQL Server Reporting Services, Excel Data Analysis.Demonstrative experience and/or a proven record of success as a team leader.Experience of working with Data Quality tools e.g. Informatica DEQ, Altyrx, Collibra, Reltio.Analytical focus and data analysis skills.Ability to work independently.Understanding the principles of Enterprise Data Models and their application.Possessing judgement to foresee technical issues based on approaches and have an understanding of the impact of issue and ideas as they relate to.Prior project management experience.Prioritisation and time management skills.Facilitating skills and ability to coach/teach others.Written and verbal communication skills and problem/conflict resolution skillsPassion and interest in Data Quality, with demonstrated precision and attention-to-detail in solving problemsUnderstanding of data management concepts and associated business processes and tools, specifically Data Modelling, Data Warehousing, and Data QualityStrong customer and business focus with demonstrated ability to form effective working relationships and resolve conflicts
The Data Steward with focus on client and product data domains requires an understanding of marketing and product development processes and concepts and experience working with marketing data.
